My Emotion Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 October 2026

This policy explains how Tenolife handles information when you use the My Emotion app for iOS or Android, the website at myemotion.tenolife.com, and our support service. Contact us at support@tenolife.com.

Your journal and settings

My Emotion does not require an account. Emotion check-ins, selected activities, social reflections, water logs, habit schedules, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not operate a server that receives or synchronizes the contents of your journal, and we do not send those contents to advertising or analytics services.

Local storage does not mean that no information ever leaves your device. Advertising, optional app analytics, purchases, website requests, and support messages involve the information described below. Your operating system may also include app data in device backups or transfers, depending on your Apple, Google, and device settings.

You can delete individual journal entries in the app. Removing the app and its stored data through your operating system removes its local journal and preferences; backup copies may need to be managed separately through your backup provider. We cannot retrieve a journal that exists only on your device.

Advertising and your choices

The free app uses Google AdMob. Google's advertising services may process IP addresses (including approximate location inferred from an IP address), device or advertising identifiers where available, ad interactions, app interactions, and diagnostic information for advertising, measurement, security, and fraud prevention. We do not provide your emotion entries or social reflections to AdMob, and we do not use their contents to target ads.

In app versions with More → Ads & privacy, we use Google's User Messaging Platform to refresh the available privacy choices and display any required consent message before requesting ads. The message describes relevant purposes and advertising partners. You can accept or decline the choices offered by that message and revisit them through More → Ads & privacy → Review ad choices. Depending on your choices, region, and Google's permitted ad-serving modes, you may see personalized, non-personalized, limited, or no ads. Non-personalized advertising can still involve device storage and other data processing.

You can choose Not now when an initial decision is needed and continue using the app without ad requests for that session. The app may offer the choice again on a later launch. Refusing consent does not require a purchase and does not block journal or habit features.

We also offer an optional one-time purchase to remove ads. Purchasing or restoring this entitlement stops in-app ad requests; it does not grant advertising consent, enable analytics, or automatically revoke a previous advertising consent. You can still review previous ad choices. This purchase does not prevent network requests needed for store transactions, privacy-choice management, images, articles, or support.

See Google's privacy policy, how Google uses information from services using its technology, and AdMob's data disclosure.

Optional app analytics

In versions with More → Ads & privacy, Firebase Analytics collection is off by default. You may independently enable Optional app analytics to help us understand app usage and diagnose problems. Buying ad removal does not enable this setting, and advertising consent is separate from this choice.

When enabled, Firebase Analytics may process app-instance identifiers, device and operating-system information, app usage and screen events, session information, and related diagnostic or approximate-location information under Google's service settings. We do not send journal contents, emotion selections, activity names, or social reflections as analytics event parameters.

You can turn this setting off at any time. The app stops analytics collection and requests a reset of locally held analytics data. This does not by itself erase data already processed by Google. Contact support about previously collected data; we may be unable to identify a particular installation without additional information because there is no My Emotion account.

Older app versions: releases without the Ads & privacy controls, including the earlier 1.1.0 release, may initialize advertising and Firebase Analytics without these in-app controls. Update to a version containing the controls to use the choices described above. Your device's advertising and privacy settings also remain available. This policy does not imply that older installed versions have acquired new controls automatically.

See Firebase privacy and security information.

Purchases

Apple App Store or Google Play processes payments for ad removal. My Emotion receives store product details and purchase or restore results to maintain your entitlement, including product and transaction information supplied by the store. A local preference records whether ads have been removed. We do not receive your full payment-card details and do not operate a purchase-validation server.

Store providers retain transaction records under their own policies. Reinstalling the app may require Restore purchase with the store account used to buy it. Removing local app data does not cancel or refund a completed purchase; contact the relevant store for refund requests.

Reminders, images, and articles

Habit and emotion reminders are scheduled locally after you grant the relevant device permissions. Their text and schedules may be visible to your operating system and on your lock screen, depending on your settings. You can change reminder settings in the app or revoke notification permissions through your device.

The daily background image is retrieved from Microsoft's Bing services. Image and article requests transmit ordinary connection information, such as your IP address and request details, to the provider or website host. We do not attach journal contents to those requests. Opening external links subjects your visit to that site's privacy practices. See Microsoft's privacy statement.

This website

Our website is hosted using Cloudflare. Hosting and security services process connection and request information, such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information, and timestamps, to deliver and protect the site. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives connection information when your browser requests them.

The website currently uses Google Analytics to understand page visits and interactions. It can process browser and device information, online identifiers, page URLs, and visit or interaction events, and uses analytics cookies. These website analytics are separate from the app's optional analytics setting. Your app settings and ad-removal purchase do not control website analytics. You can use browser cookie and tracking controls or Google's Analytics opt-out tool. Blocking optional browser features does not require buying the app's ad-removal product.

See Cloudflare's privacy policy and Google Analytics privacy information.

Support, retention, and your rights

If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. Please avoid sending journal content or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for your request. We use support information to respond and resolve issues; we retain it as needed for that purpose and any applicable legal obligations.

Journal data remains in local storage until deleted. Preference and consent records persist as needed to remember choices. Advertising, analytics, hosting, backup, and store providers retain information under their applicable service settings, policies, and legal obligations; we do not promise that deleting the app deletes their records. Google and other providers may process information outside your country under their applicable safeguards.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, or restrict processing of personal information, object to processing, withdraw consent, obtain a copy, or complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact support@tenolife.com to exercise a right or ask about retention. We may need enough information to locate the relevant record and verify a request. Because we do not hold your local journal, requests concerning its contents must generally be handled on your device. Withdrawing consent affects future processing and does not automatically undo earlier lawful processing.

We do not sell journal contents or disclose them to advertising partners. AdMob's processing of advertising data can be subject to jurisdiction-specific sharing or targeted-advertising rules; use the available ad privacy choices and contact us with questions. We use platform storage, HTTPS network connections where supported, and access controls for services we manage, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Children and changes to this policy

My Emotion is a general well-being journal and does not ask for your age or date of birth. Parents and guardians should review advertising, analytics, and device privacy choices before allowing a child to use the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact support so we can investigate. Store age ratings do not by themselves constitute parental consent to data processing.

We may update this policy when the app, providers, or privacy practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes may also be explained in the app or release notes. Privacy controls depend on the installed app version and the messages available for your region.
